We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Fairfield, New Jersey for a short-term Contract assignment expected to last 2-4 weeks. This onsite role will focus on resolving a high volume of payroll check issues, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, including large employee populations and multi-state processing, and can quickly step in to support critical payroll operations.

Responsibilities:
• Review and correct approximately 2,500 payroll checks that were issued inaccurately, ensuring each item is resolved properly and in a timely manner.
• Process payroll activities from start to finish while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and complete documentation.
• Handle payroll transactions for employees across multiple states in accordance with applicable wage and tax requirements.
• Use ADP Workforce Now to research payroll records, update information, and support issue resolution.
• Investigate discrepancies in pay, deductions, or check details and apply appropriate corrections.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed to confirm payroll data and help prevent repeat errors.
• Maintain organized records of corrections, adjustments, and completed payroll actions for audit readiness.• Experience managing full-cycle payroll processing in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.
• Background supporting multi-state payroll with knowledge of related compliance considerations.
• Proficiency using ADP Workforce Now for payroll administration and record review.
• Prior payroll experience supporting employee populations of more than 500 employees.
• Strong accuracy, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail when handling sensitive payroll data.
• Ability to work onsite in Fairfield, New Jersey for the duration of this Contract assignment.
• Availability to start quickly and contribute effectively in a short-term engagement.
