Job Description
Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care in various units including ICU, PCU, MS, and ED as needed. This role requires a strong background in critical care nursing and the ability to adapt to diverse medical environments and patient populations.

Schedule

• Shift: Night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Schedule: 4x12 hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Float between ICU, PCU, MS, and ED based on departmental needs.
• Manage and monitor patients with conditions such as ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKI's, and UTIs.
• Conduct interventions including ventilator management, EEGs, cardioversion, stress tests, and post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient-centered care and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Strong experience floating to PCU, MS, and ED preferred.
• Must be able to manage higher patient ratios.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• In-state RN license and required certifications must be valid and in hand prior to application.

Requirements

• Ability to float across various units as necessary.
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Resource Traveler position with experience managing ventilators, Artic Sun, and balloon pumps.

Unit Information

This position involves working with a diverse patient population and supporting various medical procedures including catheter placements, sheath pulls, and more.
