Senior Director, Global Tax

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the tax planning, compliance, and accounting functions within the company, ensuring all tax-related matters are managed effectively and efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of global taxes, corporate tax, including tax planning, compliance, and accounting for income taxes.
• Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
• Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Analyze and interpret tax regulations, develop appropriate responses, and implement procedures to ensure the company's compliance.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax provision and reporting.
• Advise on tax implications of business initiatives and strategies, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the potential impacts to management, and develop strategies to address changes.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries by various taxation authorities.
• Develop and mentor members of the tax team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree in Taxation or Law is highly desirable.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax
• In-depth knowledge and experience with ASC 980, FIN 48, FERC, USOA, and other relevant tax and accounting standards.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing tax team.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
