Data Scientist

AbbVie

Data Scientist role supporting product development and manufacturing at a pharmaceutical company. Responsibilities include preparing bioprocess data, enabling statistical and machine learning model execution, and building automated data pipelines in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Compile, clean, and engineer laboratory and commercial datasets for multivariate and hybrid process models
Build end-to-end data pipelines and products with the digital team to operationalize models
Design follow-on experiments and formulate conclusions from multidisciplinary bioprocess data
Demonstrate scientific initiative in research and development activities with minimal supervision
Author publications, presentations, and regulatory documents or patents as primary investigator

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years experience, or Master's with 8+ years, or PhD
Strong biotech or pharmaceutical industry background
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
Experience with cloud-based data lake infrastructure and source code management tools
Knowledge of bioprocess data systems (AVEVA PI, LIMS, ELN, MES, ERP)
