Full-Time House Manager & Family Assistant Location: Larkspur, CA 94939 Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM with occasional weekend and overnight coverage Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour, based on experience Start Date: September 1, 2026 Requirements Maintain a smoke-free and fragrance free environment Ability to swim and comfort assisting young children in and around a pool Availability for occasional domestic travel with the family CPR and First Aid certification preferred About Our Family We are an active family of five living in Larkspur with three young children (ages 5 & twin 2 1/2 yrs). Our household is lively and full of energy, with a mom who works from home and a dad who travels frequently for work. With three little ones transitioning into school routines this fall, we are in an exciting and busy season of life. We love being outdoors together, whether that is swimming in our pool, hiking through nature, or fishing on a quiet morning. Being connected to nature is an important part of our family life. Experience working in a household with multiple young children is strongly preferred. Key Qualities Include Calm, Grounded Presence: Comfortable working in a lively home while keeping a peaceful demeanor Proactive & Self-Sufficient: Able to efficiently manage the home by taking initiative and anticipating needs without constant direction High Standards for Tidiness and Routines: Capable of creating and maintaining systems for household organization, tasks and daily routines Safety Oriented: Strong swimmer and capable of supporting children through various outdoor and sports activities Healthy Meal Planning + Prep Experience: Confidence cooking nutritious, high-protein meals and limiting processed ingredients Key Responsibilities Family Support Support childcare for afternoon - evening routines through bedtime with parents Engage children in age-appropriate activities; redirect energy and make routines fun and interactive Prep backpacks, clothing, lunch boxes and snacks for school days Occasional school pickup or drop-off as backup support Occasional travel support with the family (domestic, as needed) Provide weekly date-night childcare coverage, including managing the children’s evening routine and bedtime Kid-related errands as needed Meal Support Grocery shopping Plan and prepare family-friendly dinners most evenings; prioritizing high-protein, whole-food ingredients and minimizing processed foods. Ensure dinner is ready by 6:00PM to support a smooth and consistent evening routine Prepare daily school lunches for all three children Assist with hosting prep including marinating, prepping ingredients, and setting up for gatherings Kitchen clean-up and ongoing maintenance Household Organization & Maintenance Daily resets throughout the home; tidy surfaces, dishes, and high-traffic areas Create and maintain household organization systems Indoor plant care Seasonal clothing swaps and donation coordination Replace batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries as needed Event, holiday, and guest prep including school needs, gift wrapping, and party support Packing and unpacking assistance for family travel as needed Laundry & Linens Wash, fold, and organize laundry in coordination with house cleaner Ironing, steaming, and special garment care as needed Occasional guest room linen rotation Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked Inventory & Errands Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies Manage running supply lists and coordinate household orders Run errands as needed: returns, gift shopping, etc Mail and package handling; break down and recycle boxes Vendor & Property Oversight Oversee and coordinate with house cleaners, contractors, and landscapers Manage outdoor area upkeep and readiness for entertaining Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Occasional deep cleans of fridge, oven, and baseboards Refresh of garage, mudroom, and entryway Organizational projects for toys, gear, and storage areas How to Apply Please submit a short intro letter telling us a bit about yourself and why this role feels like a good fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information.
