Exciting Opportunity for a Hematology & Oncology Program Manager

Join our organization in Salisbury, NC, as we seek a passionate full-time Hematology Oncology Program Manager dedicated to delivering outstanding care to our veterans.

Role Overview

The Hematology/Oncology Program Manager will collaborate closely with the Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology, overseeing operations in Salisbury, Charlotte, and Kernersville. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading Infusion Services to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
• Establishing standardized processes across all locations.
• Supervising the oncology navigation team to maintain high-quality navigation and effective workload management.
• Acting as the Chief of Hematology and Oncology in the absence of the Section Chief.
• Driving quality improvement initiatives and supporting administrative functions from the ACOS of Medicine and the Section Chief.
• Providing strategic and operational leadership, overseeing consult services, and mentoring trainees.
• Advancing education and research as a clinician-educator-research faculty member.

Qualifications and Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA Policy.
• Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is essential.
• Licensure: A current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia is required.
• Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty is necessary.
• Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible and eligible for an academic appointment.
• Preferred Experience: ABIM board certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology, along with fellowship training in adult Hematology & Oncology.
• Academic Appointment: Faculty appointment at a medical school, commensurate with experience.

• Salary Range: Competitive compensation between $350,000 and $400,000.
• Pay Structure: Annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual leave, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME.
• Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension with 5 years vesting and a federal 401K with up to 5% contributions from the organization.
