Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Day Shift

Location: Maryland

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week from 07:15 to 15:45.

Job Description: We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant to support a variety of surgical cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in a teaching hospital and community hospital settings, and a commitment to providing high-quality surgical assistance in the operating room.

Responsibilities:

Provide first-assist support in various surgical procedures including General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery/Spine, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology.
Utilize surgical skills such as tissue handling, clamping, suctioning, and wound closure.
Maintain aseptic technique and ensure proper instrument processing and sterilization.
Participate in both weekday and weekend call coverage as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Minimum of 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience is required.
Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA certification, and CSFA, ABSA, or similar certifications are required.
No Maryland state licensure requirement is specified.
Experience with various surgical techniques and procedures such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery is expected.
