Senior Data Scientist (Credit)

To drive consumer lending decisions at scale, the full-time remote Senior Data Scientist (Credit) will develop and deploy credit scoring models, optimize decision-making processes, and collaborate with product teams to enhance customer offerings across Nigeria and Africa. Key responsibilities Develop and deploy credit scoring, affordability, and behavioral models for underwriting and pricing Design and conduct experiments to optimize approval rates and profitability Ensure data quality and compliance while mentoring product squads on data-driven decision-making Required qualifications Degree or qualifications in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering Over 5 years of experience in data science, decision science, or risk analytics within financial services Working knowledge of credit risk and consumer lending Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R) Experience with A/B testing and machine learning methodologies
