Oral Surgeon

Overview Assistant/Associate Professor - Oral Surgery and Chair, Creighton University School of Dentistry. The Chair will oversee the department’s curricular content and participate in delivering the didactic, laboratory, and clinical curriculum within the pre-doctoral clinic model. The role includes administrative duties and service in support of the department, school, and university. The 12-month, tenure-track Clinician Educator position will work with a team of faculty to build on a legacy of excellence in dental education and expand capacity as a national resource in the dental profession. Primary appointment is in the Department of Oral Surgery. Academic rank and salary will be based on qualifications. Creighton is a Catholic and Jesuit comprehensive university. Responsibilities Oversee currency of the department’s curricular content. Participate in delivery of the didactic, laboratory, and clinical curriculum within the pre-doctoral clinic model. Perform administrative duties and service in support of the department, school, and university as Chair. Collaborate with faculty to enhance educational programs and resources. Qualifications Required DDS or DMD from an ADA CODA-accredited institution or equivalent with an ADA CODA-accredited certificate in Oral Surgery; or a DDS/DMD with CODA-accredited post-graduate training in Advanced General Dentistry or demonstrated oral surgery experience deemed commensurate with post-graduate training. Successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or Integrated National Board Dental Examination prior to hire date. Unrestricted Nebraska Dental License or eligibility to obtain one, and credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment. Preferred Specialty certificate in Oral Surgery from an ADA CODA-accredited program. CODA-accredited post-graduate certificate in General Dentistry (AEGD/GPR) or equivalent military dentistry experience with teaching support of oral surgery curriculum. Prior full-time or >50% dental academic position with teaching experience in oral surgery curriculum. How to Apply Candidates should submit their application through Interfolio.
