Deli Employee – Job Description

Position Summary

Deli employees prepare food, serve customers, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. This role supports daily operations by ensuring quality, speed, and friendly service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sandwiches, salads, sides, and other deli menu items according to recipes and portion standards

• Provide fast, friendly customer service at the counter and register

• Keep prep areas, equipment, and the deli case clean and stocked

• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and temperature‑control procedures

• Label, date, and rotate products to maintain freshness and shelf life

• Restock ingredients, paper goods, and supplies throughout the shift

• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

• Communicate low stock, equipment issues, or customer concerns to management

• Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

• Basic food‑handling and sanitation knowledge 

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
