Entry-Level Position in Light Manufacturing

Primary Objective of Position:

This is an entry-level position in a light manufacturing environment where you will work in a safe and efficient manner. You will take ownership of all quality processes and quality procedures in your department. In general, the position is responsible for following work instructions to modify and/or package equipment per customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow work instructions in:
• Loading the production line
• Unpacking product
• Repackage
• Labeling
• Testing as required
• Soldering
• Crimping – Hand and Machine
• Use hand tools in modifying equipment to meet quality requirements of customers.
• Work effectively in a team environment to produce the highest quality products according to standards established by customer requirements and quality policies.
• Follow all safety requirements per Company policy and CAL-OSHA regulations.
• Maintain workstation in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist in the achievement of departmental and company goals.
• Conduct product testing according to testing requirements and guidelines.
• Follow company handbook rules, guidelines, and regulations.
• Process ownership
• First article involvement
• Follow work instructions
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Follows ISO, IATF and all other applicable procedures and company rules and policies.
• Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning safety and employment.
• Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements Level 1:

• You will be able to perform all level 1 job functions within your first two years before moving to level 2
• All level one job training log are signed off by a qualified lead
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a production/assembly environment, preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months experience of soldering and crimping – hand and machine, preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Manual Dexterity.
• Able to distinguish colors.
• The ability to have regular and prompt attendance

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• This position requires standing for 8 plus hours a day on a cement floor unless performing certain functions such as soldering and testing product.
• Employees must be able to move up and down the production line rotating between workstations, lift product from ground floor level and place on conveyor approximately 32" high, and stretch about 2' across the conveyor while performing the functions of the job.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read and follow instructions; distinguish colors of wiring, and able to hear sound while testing or reading the meters.
