The Medical Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing incoming calls, and ensuring a positive patient experience from the first point of contact.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Answer high-volume inbound calls professionally and courteously
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral requirements
• Provide patients with appointment instructions and necessary paperwork information
• Coordinate scheduling with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments
• Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, office policies, and procedures
• Follow up on missed appointments and scheduling changes
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and staff

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ year of customer service, call center, receptionist, medical office, or scheduling experience preferred
• Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
• Ability to handle a high volume of calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
