SUPPLY CHAIN ASSOCIATE

Under general supervision, assists in maintaining the efficient operation of storeroom and distribution areas in acquiring, storing, controlling, and delivering material throughout the hospital. Maintains adequate inventory levels through ordering, put away, and dispensing of supplies. Essential Job Functions Ensures that all receiving functions are carried out. Unpacks items received and inspects for damage or defects. Verifies accuracy of shipment and reconciles it with the purchase order. Records any damage or discrepancies with the Procurement Office. Performs all necessary receiving operations via computer and handheld devices and industrial equipment. Maintains storeroom and distribution area. Stores items according to established procedures in the proper location. Ensures that the environment is clean, safe, and secure. Organizes daily receipts and adjusts stock locations as needed. Ensures that all delivery functions are completed. Delivers premium freight orders the same day and other deliveries to off‑site locations. Prepares picking lists, confirms orders, and records delivery receipts. Operates delivery vehicle and industrial equipment safely and properly. Assures that inventory is appropriate and correct. Reports need for additional supplies and assists in weekly cycle counts. Rotates stock to reduce outdated material and works with the supervisor and Procurement office on shortages or damages. Performs physical counts of stock on hand twice a year to verify inventory totals. Maintains the delivery vehicle and storeroom equipment. Keeps the vehicle clean, performs a vehicle checklist, and reports servicing needs. Conducts routine maintenance on forklift, electric pallet jack, push carts, and delivery flats. Coordinates with vendors, truckers, and customers to ensure accurate deliveries. Identifies air and refrigerated packages and coordinates timely deliveries. Distributes supplies and equipment to clinical areas, replenishing crash carts, ENT carts, airway boxes and other clinical supply carts and packs. Performs duties in accordance with Independence Health System's universal behavioral/customer service standards and competencies. Counts and par stock floors for the two‑bin system: scans floors, pulls and replenishes par stock orders. Reports any bar code issues to the supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or higher level of education. Experience with inventory management systems and handheld computers. Strong leadership, organizational, independent and critical‑thinking, and sound judgment skills. Excellent communication skills for complex or controversial topics and concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to drive a delivery truck with a hydraulic rear lift assembly; knowledge and experience operating a forklift and electric pallet jack in a confined area, or trained within three (3) months of hire. Basic math and keyboard proficiency. Knowledge of basic office equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc. Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Related training or experience (preferably within the past five years). License, Certification & Clearances Act 34‑PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system. Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License. Out‑of‑state hires must obtain a Pennsylvania driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call, etc.). Physical Demands This position may require lifting objects up to 50 lbs, using hand tools, operating vehicles, and performing repetitive tasks. The role also involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, and occasional need for hand/arm coordination, gross grasp, and carrying objects. Travel may also be required locally between facilities.
