Utility Plant Operator II

The City of Peoria's Water Department has an excellent opportunity for a Utility Plant Operator II position at the Greenway Water Treatment Plant. The purpose of this position is to monitor, operate, and perform basic preventative maintenance on treatment plants and remote site equipment. This is accomplished by performing routine inspections and identifying issues on processes and equipment at treatment plants and remote sites. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.

This is a rotational shift position. Work schedule will vary based on department needs and may include rotational shifts: 1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position will be required to cover shifts for other Plant Operator II's time off.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• 2 years' experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
• Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
• Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License at the time of hire.
• Candidates must possess an ADEQ Grade III certification in Water Treatment upon hire.
