Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: - Advanced nursing skills - Ability to perform hourly safety rounds - Capable of conducting bedside shift reports Description: Traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with staff. The unit has a total of 30 beds, currently operating at 18 due to renovations. Patient ratios are typically 6-7 patients per nurse. A team nursing approach is utilized, with support staff present. Regular medical-surgical equipment is used on the unit. The documentation system in place is Meditech. Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week scheduling period. Floating to similar units may be required according to staffing needs. Successful candidates must perform hourly safety rounds. Bedside shift reporting with patients is a requirement. Certifications required include BLS and NIH Stroke Scale, which can be obtained if not current. Uniform color code is navy. The facility is well-regarded for its emergency services and trauma care.
