Overview Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Clerk and become a vital part of our finance and human resources operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. Your expertise will support the organization's commitment to timely, precise employee compensation while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information. Responsibilities Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll platforms. Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, wages, benefits, and deductions across various time & attendance systems. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for general ledger accounting, ensuring alignment with financial records. Maintain compliance with employment & labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll tax requirements by staying updated on legal changes. Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while processing payroll and benefits administration. Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee records and assist in benefits administration processes. Perform account reconciliation, analyze payroll data for discrepancies, and support audits related to payroll management. Skills Extensive experience with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, and payroll tax regulations to ensure compliance. Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting purposes. Familiarity with HR systems including HRIS platforms and benefits administration tools. Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; experience with double entry bookkeeping is a plus. Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and governmental accounting standards. Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies or issues within payroll data; strong attention to detail is essential. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and explaining complex payroll information clearly.
