Position Title 2026-2027 Psychological Sciences (Pooled) Department Psychological Sciences Primary Purpose The Department of Psychological Sciences is seeking a pool of candidates for temporary adjunct positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates should be able to successfully teach one or more of the following courses, primarily face‑to‑face, during day or evening hours. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach courses in human development. Forensic Psychology Lifespan Development Adolescence Introduction to the Psychological Sciences Abnormal Behavior Brain and Behavior Social Psychology Cognitive Psychology Cross‑Cultural Psychology Health Psychology Introduction to Community Psychology Personality Principles of Learning Counseling Psychology Unit Function The Department provides a culture of learning within a liberal educational context, challenging undergraduates to apply a scientific approach to understanding human behavior and thinking in a global context. This is achieved through courses that emphasize: Interplay between biological, cognitive, and social‑level factors Experiential learning, oral and written communication, research, and field experiences Ethical and social responsibility in a complex, interconnected world Solution‑oriented graduates for professional studies or workforce transition Appointment Details Time Limited Position: Yes (1–2 semesters). Building: Coltrane 203. Working Position Title: 2026-2027 Psychological Sciences (Pooled). Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for teaching, grading, and mentoring students Teach undergraduate psychology courses (foundation, breadth, or depth) for credit, primarily face‑to‑face, during day or evening hours Provide timely feedback to students about their assignments Submit midterm and final grades on time; meet with chair and other faculty as needed Requirements and Preferences Master's degree or higher in Psychology or closely related field with at least 18 credits in Psychology Proven ability to work effectively across different academic contexts and with a broad range of individuals Previous experience with Canvas or similar learning management system Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Command of APA style of writing Ability to teach effectively using best practices and a variety of instructional methods Ability to work effectively with a wide range of students and colleagues At least one year of experience supporting students with varied academic preparation, including first‑year college students Salary Commensurate with education and academic credentials.
