Location 610 East Cumberland Road,Altamont, IL, 62411,United States Employee Type Exempt Contact information Name Abby Jones Description As a Safety Manager at Irwin, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards. The role focuses on preventing workplace injuries and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, programs, and training with cross functional teams Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions Lead\Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and root cause analyses Prepare safety training and toolbox talks for employees Encourage a behavior-based safety program (BBS) to promote safety among employees Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare management reports Advise management on safety risks and improvements Consistent visible presence in production areas with direct engagement with employees Lead emergency response planning and drills Maintain OSHA\MIOSHA records and documentation, ensure regular compliance Lead safety committee and first responder team Administer the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, or related field (preferred) 3–7 years of experience in safety and environmental management Strong knowledge of OSHA\MIOSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations OSHA 30-Hour (preferred) Knowledge & Skills OSHA regulatory knowledge Strong communication and training skills Analytical and documentation proficiency Why Irwin?
