Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre Cooling / Air Conditioning Package Location: Frankfurt, Germany Not every Mechanical Project Manager wants to be just another name inside a tier‑one contractor structure. Some do. Others reach a point where they want more ownership, quicker decisions, and a closer connection to the people actually building the business. This role is for the second type. Morson is supporting a founder‑led specialist delivery business that is building its core team around data centre mechanical infrastructure across Europe. The business has been launched by an established entrepreneur with a strong track record in construction and engineering delivery. It is not a huge corporate, and this is not a role where you become employee number 500. The immediate requirement is for a Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of a significant air conditioning / cooling package on a major data centre project in Frankfurt. The package value is expected to sit around €5m–€10m, with mobilisation planned for November. Due to the project location and mobilisation requirements, candidates must hold an EU passport or already have unrestricted right to work in Germany / the EU. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Project You will be joining at the package delivery stage on a Frankfurt data centre project, focused on mechanical cooling and air conditioning systems. The package will be suited to someone who has been close to the detail of mechanical delivery on data centre projects, including areas such as: HVAC and cooling systems Chilled water infrastructure CRAH / CRAC units Mechanical plant and distribution Pipework and equipment installation Specialist subcontractor management Technical coordination with wider MEP teams Programme, progress and commercial control Commissioning and close‑out interface This is not a paper‑based project management role. You will need to understand how mechanical packages are actually delivered on site, where the pressure points appear, and how to keep subcontractors, programme, commercial position and client expectations moving in the right direction. Role As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the mechanical cooling package, working closely with the client, subcontractors, internal leadership and wider project team. You will be responsible for driving delivery on site, managing day‑to‑day progress, protecting programme, raising issues early and making sure the package is delivered properly. The role will cover: Managing mechanical package delivery from mobilisation through installation and close‑out Coordinating subcontractors, labour, suppliers and specialist vendors Driving short‑term planning, sequencing and progress reporting Managing RFIs, technical queries, submittals and design coordination issues Working closely with commercial teams around change, cost, margin and package performance Maintaining strong client relationships on site Supporting quality, safety and commissioning readiness Identifying risks early and making sure issues are dealt with before they become project problems Helping shape delivery standards, reporting lines and processes as the business scales Who this will suit This will suit a Mechanical Project Manager who has already delivered data centre mechanical packages and understands the reality of live project delivery. You may currently be working for a larger contractor, MEP contractor or HVAC specialist where the projects are strong, but the structure can feel heavy. You know how to deliver the work. You know how to manage subcontractors. You know how to deal with client pressure. But you may want more influence than your current role allows. Experience Required We are looking for someone currently working as a: Mechanical Project Manager Senior Mechanical Project Manager MEP Project Manager Mechanical Package Manager You should have: Strong mechanical bias Data centre project experience Experience delivering cooling, HVAC, chilled water, CRAH, CRAC, air conditioning or similar mechanical infrastructure packages Strong subcontractor management experienceGood understanding of programme, sequencing and site coordination Commercial awareness around change, cost, margin and package performance Confidence dealing with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal leadership Ability to operate in a growing business without needing layers of corporate structure around you EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Germany / the EU Experience with major data centre contractors, MEP contractors or specialist HVAC / cooling businesses would be highly relevant.
