Store Manager In Training (SMIT) Position We’re building a world of health around every individual — shaping a more connected, convenient and compassionate health experience at CVS Health. The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development focused role designed to prepare candidates for a future CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program provides a 16‑week, self‑paced, collaborative training that includes virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. The program team includes a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and availability of openings. Key Responsibilities Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion. Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead your team. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage the store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication. Customer service orientation. Merchandising and sales support. Inventory and asset management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience considered. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS supervisor. Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary with business needs.
