Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer

Autolife by Master Auto Group – Raleigh, NC

Autolife is looking for the right person to become an important part of our growing service team.

Autolife is an established Raleigh automotive repair shop that has served the community for decades and is now entering its next stage of growth under Master Auto Group.

We are looking for a Service Advisor who is organized, great with people, understands how a repair shop operates, and wants an opportunity to grow with the business.

This is not just a front-desk position.

You will play an important role in keeping the shop organized, communicating with customers and technicians, managing repair orders, coordinating parts, and helping vehicles move efficiently through the repair process.

In addition to customer-pay service work, Autolife also handles repair and reconditioning work for Master Auto Group's dealership inventory .

That gives our shop something many independent repair shops struggle to provide:

Consistent workflow.

You will help coordinate both customer vehicles and dealership vehicles, giving you an important role in keeping the entire operation moving.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You will help control the day-to-day flow of the service department, including:

• Greeting customers and answering incoming calls
• Scheduling service appointments
• Creating and managing repair orders
• Communicating technician findings and repair recommendations to customers
• Explaining repairs clearly and professionally
• Providing customers with vehicle status updates
• Following up on repair approvals
• Ordering and tracking parts
• Coordinating parts arrival with the repair schedule
• Communicating with technicians throughout the day
• Helping prioritize and organize shop workflow
• Tracking vehicles waiting on diagnosis, approval, parts, or completion
• Coordinating repair and reconditioning work for Master Auto Group inventory
• Tracking dealership vehicles alongside customer-pay vehicles
• Helping keep dealership recon vehicles moving efficiently through the shop
• Keeping management informed of delays, parts issues, or other problems
• Making sure completed vehicles are ready for customer or dealership pickup
• Creating a professional and trustworthy customer experience from drop-off through pickup

Experience

Previous experience as a:

• Automotive Service Advisor
• Service Writer
• Assistant Service Manager
• Parts & Service Advisor
• Automotive Shop Coordinator

is strongly preferred.

Experience in an independent repair shop, dealership service department, tire/service center, or similar automotive environment is a plus.

We are willing to consider someone with less direct service-advisor experience if they have strong automotive knowledge, excellent customer-service skills, and can demonstrate that they are organized, dependable, and coachable.

Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Schedule

Full-Time

Regular schedule is primarily Monday through Friday , with approximately 1–2 Saturdays per month .

Compensation

$23–$28 per hour based on experience and ability

Candidates with strong service-advisor experience, automotive knowledge, bilingual ability, or demonstrated leadership potential may qualify toward the higher end of the range.

Today, the shop operates as Autolife by Master Auto Group , continuing to service existing customers while also supporting Master Auto Group's dealership inventory.

• Customer-pay repairs and maintenance
• Existing Autolife customer vehicles
• Master Auto Group reconditioning vehicles
• Mechanical repairs needed before dealership vehicles are ready for sale

Our goal is to build Autolife into one of Raleigh's most trusted independent automotive service operations while maintaining the personal customer service and reputation the shop was built on.
