Role Description The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management and therapeutic interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting follow-up visits, monitoring treatment effectiveness, adjusting medications as needed, and documenting all care in the electronic health record. The role involves collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care clinicians, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services. The nurse practitioner will also provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, and self-management strategies while adhering to current clinical guidelines and regulatory standards. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Newport Beach, CA, with a combination of in-office patient care and some work-from-home responsibilities such as telehealth visits and documentation. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatric Care, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment of common psychiatric disorders. Licensure and experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), with the ability to practice independently within scope. Strong background in Mental Health Care delivery, including outpatient care, crisis management, and coordination of services across disciplines. Foundational Nursing skills, including clinical judgment, patient safety practices, and thorough documentation consistent with regulatory requirements. Active NP license in California, prescriptive authority, and board certification in psychiatric/mental health (or eligibility to obtain certification). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based, patient-centered environment. Comfort with telehealth platforms and electronic health records; ability to manage schedules and workloads in a hybrid in-person/remote setting.
