Location: Rochester, NY - 14625 (Onsite)
Pay Range: $25/hr - $30/hr
Job Summary: Join our Laboratory Products Division as an Injection Molding Process Technician. You'll set up, adjust, and maintain injection molding machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality plastic parts for laboratories across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, academia, and biotechnology. This hands-on role involves installing molds, optimizing machine parameters, troubleshooting process issues, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and start up injection molding machines according to production schedules
- Install and remove molds, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections
- Adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time) for optimal performance
- Perform first-piece inspections to verify product quality and specifications
- Troubleshoot molding and process issues to minimize downtime
- Monitor machine performance during production and make real-time adjustments
- Perform routine maintenance on molds and equipment
- Maintain accurate production and setup documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams
Must-Have Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with injection molding machines and tooling
- 2+ years of injection molding setup or processing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Knowledge of plastics materials and molding processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and documentation
- Attention to detail and quality focus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical training in manufacturing or plastics
- Familiarity with robotics and automation systems
- First-piece inspection experience
- Knowledge of quality control standards
