Deli Specialist

Job Summary Open availability including weekends. Slices, packages, weighs, and sells various deli products, including meats and cheeses. Maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including deli display cases. Provides assistance to Members in the deli department. Provide high level of customer service to Members. Answer questions and recommend deli items. Answer Member calls and take special orders. Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, including cheeses and meats. Help Members select the correct products. Sample product to assist in purchasing decisions. Prepare and package special orders and party trays. Receive and inspect deli shipments. Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following safety policies. Ensure all products are fresh and meet company quality standards. Check for out‑of‑date products daily and follow salvage policies. Ensure deli cooler shelves and deli display cases have a wide variety of product. Stock and rotate deli items when necessary. Operate and handle deli equipment safely. Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces. Ensure scale systems are in working order. Ensure items are weighed and priced accurately. Maintain all club policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job. Qualifications Work experience in a deli department preferred. Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred. Knowledge of deli products preferred. At least 18 years of age. Environment Most of the time is spent moving frequently on hard surfaces. May need to bend, handle, pull, reach or stoop. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require heavier than 30 pounds with assistance. Exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, coolers. Exposure to cleaning agents.
