Locum Tenens Pediatric Anesthesiologists Needed - Dayton, Ohio

The Opportunity

Dayton Children's is seeking 3 full-time Pediatric Anesthesiologists for locum tenens coverage beginning in November 2026, with coverage needs extending through February 2027 and April 2027, and possible coverage through October 2027. This hospital-based assignment supports FMLA coverage in a busy pediatric operating room environment.


Schedule & Logistics
• Dates of Need: November 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027 and November 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027, with possible coverage through October 2027.
• Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0700-1530.
• Coverage Requirements: Full-time coverage for 3 Pediatric Anesthesiologists; reason for coverage is FMLA.
• Call Requirements: No call required.


Clinical Scope & Facility Details
• Patient Volume: Average 50-60 surgical cases per day; annual ER volume is approximately 70,000.
• Patient Demographics: Neonatal to adult.
• Support Staff: Collegial team of RNs, surgical techs, PCAs, surgeons, proceduralists, and APPs.
• Facility Details: ACS Level 1 Trauma Center with 22 anesthesiologists in practice and 14 operating rooms.
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based operating rooms; care model includes a mix of solo practice and supervising CRNAs.


Procedures & Competencies
• Required Core Procedures: General surgical cases neonatal, pediatric, and adult; thoracic cases except open heart; complex orthopedic cases; neurosurgical cases; and ventilation management.
• Preferred Skills: Pediatric anesthesia services across subspecialties, insertion of arterial lines, and evaluation/management of acute volume or blood pressure issues.
