This position acts as a bridge between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and general Med‑Surg, overseeing a clinical environment that requires heightened observation and specialized technical skills. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership: Supervise the nursing team on an 18‑bed unit, ensuring safe patient‑to‑nurse ratios (goal 1:3). Unit Management: Coordinate patient flow, including admissions and discharges for a diverse population (post‑cath lab, surgical recovery, and complex medical cases). Technical Oversight: Provide expertise in managing life‑sustaining equipment, cardiac monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, and titrated medication drips. Staff Support: Act as a resource for critical thinking and time management, supported by a dedicated team of ancillary staff.
