Hydraulic Cylinder Technician / Machine Shop Hand

Shift: 7am-330pm Monday-Friday Pay: $24

Position Summary: Cardinal Staffing is seeking a mechanically inclined and dependable Hydraulic Cylinder Technician / Machine Shop Hand to join our growing team in Brownstown, MI. This hands-on position is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders and related components. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting mechanical systems, working with tools, and learning new skills in a fast-paced shop environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Disassemble hydraulic cylinders and components using proper tools and repair procedures
• Inspect barrels, rods, pistons, glands, seals, and other components for wear or damage
• Measure and identify parts requiring repair or replacement using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers
• Assist with rebuilding and reassembling hydraulic cylinders to manufacturer specifications
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used, and work performed
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles and company standards
• Work closely with experienced technicians and foremen to learn hydraulic repair techniques and shop processes
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Experience with hydraulic cylinders, fluid power systems, industrial maintenance, or related mechanical equipment is preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and repair specifications
• Familiarity with hydraulic tools, torque specifications, and sealing systems is a plus
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and willingness to learn and develop technical skills

• Industrial shop environment with exposure to hydraulic fluids, cleaning solutions, and machinery
