Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing high-quality perioperative care within a Level I trauma center. The position requires expertise in general surgery, trauma, and specialized cases, with an emphasis on patient safety and operational efficiency in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details:

• Position / Specialty: Operating Room
• Shift: Rotating schedule with 10-hour shifts, scheduled from 10:45 AM to 9:15 PM, with potential for alternative shifts between 12:45 PM to 11:15 PM.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, minimum of 40 hours.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in operating room nursing, active Illinois license in hand or application in process, BLS certification required, CNOR certification preferred, Level I trauma experience required, general OR and trauma case experience mandatory, and proficiency with Cerner charting system preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and knowledge of additional surgical specialties listed.
• Additional Information:
  • This role involves working with all service lines except cardiovascular (CV).
  • Will work with various surgical procedures including general, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology cases.
  • On-call requirement of approximately 1 week per month.
  • Open to working within scope to meet facility needs, with rare floating within skill set.
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
  • The assignment begins on 07/27/2026, with orientation scheduled as per facility requirements.
  • Candidate must review and obtain approval for all requested time off, including holidays, and be available for holiday coverage.
  • Will work in a 562-bed hospital that is a designated Level I trauma center, providing a comprehensive acute care setting.
