Waconia Public Schools is looking for candidates dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to explore their passions and create their success! Our school district located near the banks of Lake Waconia and approximately 25 miles west of Minneapolis, Waconia Public Schools serves approximately 4,000 students and their families from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius, and New Germany. School District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Finance & Operations, the Payroll Coordinator coordinates and performs the District's payroll operations to ensure employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws, collective bargaining agreements, District policies, and reporting requirements. This position maintains payroll records and employee payroll data; coordinates payroll calendars, deadlines, reconciliations, and year-end processes; prepares required state, federal, retirement, tax, benefit, and vendor reports; serves as a resource to employees and departments on payroll-related matters; and identifies process improvements to strengthen payroll accuracy, compliance, internal controls, and customer service. The Payroll Coordinator serves as the District's primary Skyward Payroll System Administrator and subject matter expert, providing system administration, user support, security oversight, training, troubleshooting, and coordination between Finance, Human Resources, and Technology. The position maintains ownership of payroll-related system access, security roles, configurations, workflows, and reporting functions within Skyward and serves as a key resource for payroll operations, compliance, and business process continuity. Through specialized knowledge of District payroll processes, collective bargaining agreements, regulatory requirements, and integrated payroll systems, the Payroll Coordinator ensures data integrity, operational efficiency, and the effective use of payroll technology across the District.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications: AA degree in Accounting, Business, or related field and 3 years directly related experience in payroll processing Compensation: $56,701 - $70,314 depending upon qualifications, plus a generous benefits package that starts on your first day of employment.
