Faculty Wage Lecturer, Department of Urban + Environmental Planning

The Department of Urban + Environmental Planning , School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, seeks applications to fill various non-tenure-track instructional Lecturer positions during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Specialized subject areas of particular need may include, but are not limited to: Studio, Seminar, Lecture, Intensive Short Course, Visualization, and/or Workshop. Qualified incumbents may be hired into one or more of the specialized areas (Undergraduate and/or Graduate Courses). Other duties may include, but are not limited to: organizing guest lectures, course-specific advising, developing or reviewing curricula, advising, guiding students in their research papers, grading, and/or organizing and leading field trips. Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with prior university-level teaching experience. The qualified candidate should demonstrate professional and/or academic expertise in the specialized subject area and provide evidence of teaching ability and experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program.
