Lead Customer Service Representative

Essential Duties Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service: greet customers, offer assistance and recommendations, and process sales accurately on cash registers. Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions. Arrive on time and adhere to dress and appearance code. Maintain store condition: clean, perform housekeeping duties, inspect equipment, and report maintenance needs. Handle merchandising: complete build‑to’s, receive and verify vendor deliveries, maintain adequate stock, rotate inventory, and place advertising and pricing signage. Control sales and inventory: monitor merchandise, cash shortages, and shift audits. Perform financial controls: track shift sales, cash handling procedures, close‑out functions, vendor deliverables, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager. Supervise staff in the Store Assistant Manager’s absence: coach, train, and counsel employees, adjust duties, and manage fast‑food service area as required. Set gasoline pricing and handle gasoline inventory accurately. Report all incidents (injuries, theft, property damage, or unsafe conduct) to the Store Manager immediately. Complete administrative tasks: count cash drawer, record employee purchases, produce shift change reports, maintain time‑keeping records, inventory supplies, attend mandatory meetings, and ensure predictable attendance. Complete daily store reports and other duties assigned by the Store Manager. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in retail sales preferred. Proficiency in operating equipment, tools, and materials listed above. Reliability in following the scheduled shift and arriving on time. Clear communication skills to convey information and instructions. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Capability to perform all essential duties and listed physical functions. Physical Requirements Ability to work in cold or warm temperature extremes, in walk‑in coolers, freezers, and outdoors. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist. Reach overhead and manipulate objects with hands with eye‑hand coordination. Push or pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., hand‑truck). Flexibility to bend, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb ladders when necessary. Continuous standing and walking for an entire shift. Ability to work independently while responding to occasional noise. Work Environment Approximately 95% of work is indoors; occasional outdoor duties include cleaning parking lots, removing garbage, and operating gas pumps. Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in coolers/freezers. Occasional noise exposure. Work conducted with minimal guidance and periodic oversight.
