Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. The focus is on ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. This role practices in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. Support is provided through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is steered by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses Critical Care are required to be licensed and knowledgeable in nursing practice as outlined by relevant regulations. They must implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards. As a member of the patient services team, the individual will uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Perform the Nursing Process in clinical care using evidence-based practice.
• Ensure assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation are individualized.
• Coordinate care through effective partnerships.
• Provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
• Partner with patients and significant others in meaningful ways.
• Practice using current clinical standards.
• Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment and required education.
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for professional nurses and students.
• Promote evidence-based practice and research in nursing.
• Participate in data collection and consult appropriate experts for practice questions.
• Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum.
• Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
• Support the efficient use of human and material resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
