Construction Scheduler

Elmington Construction is a Nashville-based general contractor and construction management company providing comprehensive residential and commercial services with a partnership approach. POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Construction Scheduler at Elmington Construction, you will work closely with preconstruction, project management, field management, and our in-house scheduling team, as well as with subcontractors and owners' representatives, to aid in the creation and management of schedules for the company projects.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Basic mathematical skills
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of all facets of ground up construction
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to travel
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and leadership.
• Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Create and manage detailed project schedules along with project teams' input
• Work with project teams and leadership to set project goals and analyze the status of the projects
• Perform analysis on schedules to determine duration and logic issues
• Work with project teams to update schedules on a bi-weekly basis and report all findings to project teams and leadership
• Perform impact analysis for potential delays and changes
• Report overall progress for each project to leadership
• Manage additional schedulers that will assist in schedule creation, updates, and reporting
• Visit projects for onsite review of progress
• Identify ways to provide information to project teams and subcontractors to clearly communicate schedule expectations and impacts
• Provide guidance to less experienced members of the team
• Perform additional duties as assigned

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

• A Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 3-5 years related construction experience working in similar positions
• Thorough understanding of critical path method of scheduling
• Experience using Primavera scheduling software and Microsoft Office products (P6 experience preferred)
• Familiarity with claims prevention and analysis techniques strongly preferred
• Ability to conduct constructability reviews for varying construction method/techniques during design or construction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
