POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Information Technologyisseekinga highly motivated, innovative, customer service-focused, Health Informatics Specialist withstrong analytical and communication skills, an interest in healthcare technology, and some familiarity with healthcare or medical environments.The successful candidate willfocus solely on supporting University Health Services (UHS) and responsible forapplicationsupport of the electronic health record (EHR)andbridge the gap between healthcare and information technology. This role willimpactstudents by understanding and supporting ongoing changes in (UHS) clinical and business processes related to theEHR toimprove patient care quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and streamline medical workflowswhile working closely with stakeholders at various levels. The successful candidate shoulddemonstrate: 1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 2. Ability to understand business processes and translate user needs into clear requirements. 3. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 4. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 6. Ability to troubleshoot problems methodically and work through issues with users and technical teams. 7. Ability and willingness to learn new applications, technologies, and healthcare workflows. 8. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a collaborative environment. 9. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. 10. An interest in healthcare information technology and improving technology-supported business processes. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Degree in health informatics, information technology, nursing, or health information management preferred. 2. Familiarity with healthcare technology, EHR systems, clinical applications, or healthcare/medical environments is preferred. 3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot application issues and identify process improvements. 4. Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to learn new systems and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Associate DegreeNo prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.Required Certifications:None LOCATION This position follows a hybrid work model with some remote work flexibility. An on-site presence at the University Park campus may berequiredat times to support specific responsibilities, projects, meetings, or organizational priorities.
