Responsibilities Responsible for the safe and effective ground movement of Envoy’s aircraft, including conducting safe start-up procedures. Ensure that the tug operator is in contact with the aircraft cockpit before any equipment is connected. Ensure that the appropriate equipment is being used for the type and weight of aircraft. Ensure operational inspection of tow tractor and tow bar before every use. Ensure that the tow bar is properly connected to the tow tractor and aircraft. Immediately stop tow operations when signaled by any member of towing/push back crew. Ensure that the minimum towing distance of 50 meters between operations is maintained and the towing speed of 8km an hour is not exceeded. Qualifications Who are we looking for? Requirements High school diploma, GED or International equivalent Possess a valid, unexpired and unsuspended state driver's license; some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role. Minimum of two years’ experience in Ground/Airport Handling type of operations Familiar with Marshalling Signals Valid National light vehicle and tow tractors driver’s license Familiar in the use of two way radio communication. In possession of a Basic Airside Induction Certificate. Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written). Must be a self-starter and be able to find solutions in an austere environment. Previous experience as a Tow Crew Member preferred. Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds. Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices. May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or on flight line. May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
