About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in PCU/Stepdown nursing required License: Valid Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac drip experience required; ability to titrate and manage drips is a hardstop requirement. - Charge experience preferred. - Experience with charting system Epic is required. Description: Looking for a qualified and motivated Registered Nurse to work in the PCU/Stepdown unit. Candidates must have cardiac drip experience, including titration and management. The nursing role requires strong clinical skills in caring for patients with cardiac conditions. Candidates must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and manage IV insulin protocols. Flexibility to float to other units is expected if overstaffed. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with various specialists. Must be prepared to work three of the five major holidays. The patient ratio experience preferred is 4-5 patients per nurse. The unit primarily cares for adults and geriatric patients. It is essential to follow isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE. The nurse will report to a charge nurse and work collaboratively with the healthcare team. Effective communication and teamwork skills are crucial for success in this role. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and high patient acuity. The nursing role includes responsibilities such as managing telemetry and administering blood products. Patient diagnoses will include conditions such as CHF, Afib, and chest pain. The unit encourages a supportive working environment for professional development.
