Lead Software Engineer, Cybersecurity & Controls

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to establish validation expectations for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the software development life cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Preferred: Production experience operating distributed data platforms, including reliability, performance tuning, and operational support
• Preferred: Experience designing data pipelines and models with data quality, lineage, and recoverability patterns; familiarity with orchestration tools, dbt, and lakehouse formats such as Apache Iceberg
• Preferred: Experience delivering solutions across on-premises and public-cloud environments, including secure connectivity, observability, access controls, and cost and performance considerations
• Preferred: Strong backend engineering experience, such as Java for platform services and Python for automation or integration
• Preferred: Experience building user interfaces and micro-frontends using JavaScript or TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Angular
• Preferred: Ability to independently identify problems end to end and deliver solutions through design thinking and troubleshooting

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, addressing technical problems beyond routine approaches
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug colleagues code
• Promote approved AI-assisted engineering practices across the team to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective patterns
• Use software development life cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation
• Identify opportunities to prevent or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and system stability
• Lead evaluations with internal teams of architectural designs, technical credentials, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture
• Design and evolve platform components and data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Flink, ClickHouse, Trino, dbt, Kestra, Apache Iceberg, and PostgreSQL, emphasizing resiliency, observability, and secure-by-design implementation
