Le Jardin Academy is looking for a Food Services Manager (Full-time). This position is responsible for the daily operation and management of Le Jardin Academy’s food service program. This position oversees food preparation and service, staffing, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, food safety and sanitation, budgeting, and compliance with applicable health and safety requirements. High School Diploma and/or relevant experience, plus minimum 3 years of experience in food service, culinary operations, or catering, with demonstrated hands-on cooking and food preparation experience required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Job Scope

The Food Services Manager is responsible for the daily operation and management of Le Jardin Academy’s food service program. This position oversees food preparation and service, staffing, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, food safety and sanitation, budgeting, and compliance with applicable health and safety requirements.

The Food Services Manager also coordinates food service and occasional catering for school events and activities, ensuring that food and beverage needs are planned, prepared, delivered, and served in a timely and professional manner.

The position requires strong organizational, communication, customer service, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages, directs and oversees all aspects of the daily food service operations to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health of students, faculty, staff and visitors

• Oversees and participates in the preparation and cooking of daily breakfast, lunch, and special event menus, ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.

• Demonstrates the ability to step in and perform hands-on food preparation and cooking duties as needed to support daily operations and staffing needs.

• Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work areas

• Training and supervision of all food service employees

• Maintains accurate inventory counts and cost controls

• Prepares annual food services budget and manages expenses to remain within budget on a monthly basis

• Submits weekly orders for food, drinks and supplies and schedules deliveries

• Manages school lunch ordering system (Lunch Tab) including but not limited to posting menus, prices, and ordering procedures

• Maintains proper cash handling procedures

• Oversees daily counts to ensure proper quantity and quality of food

• Upholding quality standards for all menu items

• Oversees all preparation of daily breakfast and lunch service

• Communicates with Alakai Vending to ensure all vending machines are filled when needed with appropriate snacks and drinks

• Assist when necessary with cleaning all food service areas including dish washing

• Oversee multiple food service areas 

• Able to create custom menus and execute food service for special events

• Maintains all kitchen and related food service equipment

• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures

• Keeps up to date with Department of Health regulations

• Additional duties as needed
