Legislative Director

The Legislative Director supports a New York State Senator by analyzing legislation, drafting bills and memos, conducting policy research, and managing constituent inquiries. The role works closely with the Senator, Chief of Staff, and communications team to establish legislative priorities and keep leadership informed on key budgetary and legislative matters. This is a full-time, in-office position in Albany requiring availability beyond standard hours during the legislative session. Key qualifications: Bachelor's degree in political science, government, public policy, public administration, economics, legal studies, or related field At least one year of professional experience in government, public policy, advocacy, or a related field Excellent writing skills Ability to research complex issues and convey findings clearly both verbally and in writing Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively Demonstrated interest in state government and policy #J-18808-Ljbffr DGS Office of External Affairs
