Paralegal / Legal Assistant

The Decatur office of Walters Balido & Crain is currently reviewing resumes for a paralegal with 3+ years of experience in a law firm atmosphere, including maintaining a heavy docket. Civil litigation/insurance defense and personal injury experience is preferred. This position requires a person who is well-organized and must be deadline-driven. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities Draft/prepare discovery responses with objections and document production Order records Communicate, via phone, emails, and written correspondence, with court coordinators, outside counsel, clients/adjusters, mediators, etc. to provide details and updates on upcoming events and various items Compile various documents and case information to provide to experts, mediators, client/adjusters, outside counsel Keep calendar up-to-date with case information and new developments including trials, hearings, deadlines Draft, file, and serve various documents including, deposition notices, hearing notices, scheduling orders, motion to quash, motion for continuance, proposed orders, etc. Draft legal documents, including but not limited to correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses and requests, controverting affidavits, Expert Designations, and motions Electronic filing with the court Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, and inspections #J-18808-Ljbffr
