About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: One year of inpatient experience Description: Clinical Offer based on Clinical Recommendation. Drivers License is required. The unit has 32 beds. Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:5. Common diagnoses include Medical-Surgical Telemetry and Surgical Specialty. RNs on this unit are required to titrate Heparin gtt and Cardizem gtt up to 10 mg/hr. Telemetry technicians are available on this unit. RNs are expected to read strips. There is a Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available. Nurse Aides are present, with a ratio of 1:8 during the day and 1:10 or 1:11 after 2300 hours. Respiratory therapy and equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow, are available. Shifts are scheduled in a patterned manner. Weekend requirements are based on unit needs, typically every other weekend. There is a holiday requirement that will be discussed during the phone interview. Travelers are the first to float. Scrub color is not specified; any scrub color is acceptable. A checklist will be provided for unit-specific orientation. This unit is a certified bariatric surgical unit. Multidisciplinary rounds are held every day shift at 10 am. The charting system used on this unit is EPIC. The trauma level for the care setting is Level 3. This position is within an acute care division in nursing.
