Laboratory Sample Coordinator (On-Call) / Madison, WI (On-Site)

Full-time on-call laboratory sample coordinator at an early-phase clinical research unit in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves collecting, preparing, labeling, and shipping clinical specimens for Phase 1 trials while maintaining compliance with federal and international regulations in a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, store, pack, and dispatch biological samples to external laboratories per federal regulations
• Apply international shipping procedures for biohazardous and dangerous goods materials
• Collect body substances including blood, saliva, urine, and stool using approved methods
• Maintain clinical laboratory equipment including centrifuges, refrigerators, and freezers
• Complete specimen documentation, track pharmacokinetic sample shipments, and organize dispatch scheduling

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfort working in fast-paced, protocol-driven clinical research environment
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities quickly
• Proficiency with electronic data collection systems and computer software
• Physical capability: standing 6-8 hours, repetitive hand movements, lifting 15-20 lbs
