POSITION SUMMARY

Holds ultimate responsibility for the project and the client relationship. Owns the final bid number, decides GO/NO-GO fit with the team, approves the estimate before it goes out, submits the bid, and is the default owner of the turnover packet. Grows and protects an annual book of business (target: $4 - 7M) at a $60/manhour gross-margin standard, while ensuring safety, documentation, and client-retention commitments are met across the full opportunity-to-closeout cycle.

HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITIES:

Ensure Safety & Qualify Risk Before Pursuing Work Confirm the client/GC has passed safety prequalification, or has an established, current safety record with K2 Electric, before committing estimating resources (Hard Gate B). Confirm the opportunity fits within current bonding and insurance capacity (Hard Gate C). Make safety a priority in every bid/no-bid, staffing, and subcontractor/vendor decision. Own the Book of Business — Identify, Qualify & Win Work Ensure every opportunity you bring in — or that's assigned to you — is logged in the OSL immediately; this is what prevents an opportunity from being lost between systems. Run the Go/No-Go Scorecard when fit, margin, or relationship strength is genuinely in question; proceed directly to estimating when the job is already a known fit. Decide GO / CONDITIONAL GO / NO-GO with the team; bring Conditional Go opportunities to the Director for a documented conversation before estimating begins. Own the final bid number and approve the estimate before it goes out (or authorize a trusted Project Engineer to release it on your behalf, with a second set of eyes). Submit the bid to the client; upon award, update OSL with the final bid number and communicate the award back to the client. Grow the annual book of business toward the department target ($7M) while protecting owner-direct revenue mix. Protect Margin Through Estimate Review & Monthly cost to complete review Monthly cost to completes are collaborated and tracked for accuracy within 10%, Review and adjust every Recap Sheet together with the Project Engineer and Estimating Team — a team review, not a solo edit. Treat a subcontractor or vendor whose number helped win the work as the team's North Star; approve a post-award swap only jointly with the Project Engineer, and only for genuine cause. Hold awarded work to a $60/manhour gross-margin target. Participate in monthly financials review of department labor and G&A costs. Own Turnover & Field Handoff Build the full turnover packet (large/construction-scale) or the simplified checklist (small/service jobs) with the Project Engineer — scope, subs, materials, safety, and insurance, every time, including service calls. Confirm scope is clearly communicated to whoever actually executes the work, and include the Superintendent/field lead when they are the one dispatching the crew. Load planned labor hours into Rivet at kickoff (with the Project Engineer), including 95%-certainty work as a 95% Potential. Share job-site photos with the field team where available so the crew arrives prepared. Drive on-time, complete closeout documentation feeding the OSL closeout log. Drive Client Retention & Satisfaction Log at least one client touchpoint per week in the RDL — a call, job walk, or proposal follow-up all count. Resolve client issues and complaints promptly to protect satisfaction. Conduct client surveys/checkins and act on the feedback. Treat a well-served client as the next Phase 1 opportunity — feed the retention loop back into new business. Target a 90% retention/renewal rate and a 4.5-of-5 client satisfaction score. Invest in Personal & Professional Development Maintain active, progressing development goals in Leapsome. Complete 1-on-1s with the Director on the established cadence. Stay current on NEC/local codes, market conditions, and Facility Services capabilities to better serve clients and support accurate estimating.]

OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as assigned. Raise any process breakdown in the estimating-to-turnover cycle immediately — the standing instruction is to flag it and adjust, not work around it. Participate in alignment meetings and support revisions to the Go/No-Go scoring weights and this SOP as the team applies them to real opportunities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Superior leadership abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organized, multi-tasker, team player, problem solver, quality-focused. Experienced working in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments. Strong knowledge of the NEC and local codes. Proven ability to establish and develop client relationships. Working knowledge of OSL, BuildingConnected, the Go/No-Go Scorecard, McCormick outputs (Recap Sheet), Rivet, and the RDL. Must be self-disciplined and results-driven through consistent personal high performance and team development.
