Paralegal

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add an experienced Paralegal to our expanding & fast paced Council Bluffs office. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for handling and maintaining cases from start to finish. You will provide legal support to the attorneys, organize and maintain case files, manage caseload requirements, and monitor timelines and billing. You will have frequent contact with new and existing clients. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting. Build real‑world legal skills by collaborating with experienced attorneys in probate, estate planning, real estate, and additional office practice areas. What You'll Do As a Paralegal, you will participate in all phases of the work process from initial contact with clients to the conclusion of the matter. Collect and compile key information for a variety of cases and legal matters. Maintain organized and up‑to‑date files, records, and legal documents. Assist attorneys with drafting and preparing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. Contact clients, agencies, and outside parties to gather necessary details and documentation. Manage attorney calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely follow‑up on all case‑related tasks. What We're Looking For Three to five years of legal experience in probate, estate planning, and real estate law in both Nebraska and Iowa Must be comfortable utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Have the ability to edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents Knowledge of filing with probate courts and probate court procedures Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team‑oriented environment Must be well organized, detail‑orientated and able to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing work priorities Ability to type accurately and efficiently from draft or dictation Ability to work professionally and effectively with both internal and external clients on all levels Education And Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Three to five years of prior legal experience required Experience in probate, estate planning, and real estate law About Us Evans & Dixon provides Midwest business clients with sophisticated legal advice, responsive communications, and hands‑on industry knowledge.
