CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR

USD $24.04/hr – USD $37.26/hr Essential Functions and Job Duties Coordinate screening and enrollment of clinical trial patients. Review physician patient schedules and assess patients for possible clinical trial enrollment. Educate patients and families during the informed consent process. Register patients and participants to protocols. Ensure eligibility requirements are met and review with physician investigator. Ensure protocol‑required patient testing is ordered and complete. Maintain record of recruitment strategies. Market protocols as needed to meet recruitment goals. Coordinate clinical trial activities conducted at the clinic and hospital. Gather and verify source documents. Verify the accuracy, completeness and timely submission of case report forms. Collaborate with investigator to ensure protocol compliance in patient selection, treatment, dose modifications and response. Interview patient to assess adverse events, medication compliance, and patient‑reported outcomes. Obtain follow‑up data required when patient is off active treatment. Correct and resubmit data or answer queries within one week of receipt or as requested by the pharmaceutical company; review expectation reports; notify research base of errors. Maintain investigational drug (IND) inventory. Review protocols and assess current IND inventory. Order INDs from the Pharmaceutical Management Branch at National Cancer Institute. Maintain individual drug accountability records. Ensure treatment order is correct by reviewing protocol guidelines and calculating prescribed dose. Qualifications Must possess good communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Must be able to organize work with minimal supervision. Must be able to focus attention to minute details. Access, Work and Excel computer skills required. Education and Other Requirements A bachelor’s degree in nursing or another health‑related field is preferred. Previous research experience and/or recent nursing experience is preferred. Environmental Factors Direct patient care duties involve the potential for frequent exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical Demands Light physical exertion, including occasional standing, bending, reaching and occasional carrying of light loads. Mental Demands Must be able to work under stress, adapt to changing conditions, and meet strict time guidelines. Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
