Job Summary:
The SMH Level 1 RN Psych Child/Adolescent provides specialized nursing care for patients aged 5-18 experiencing acute mental health crises. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and therapeutic care focused on stabilization through group therapies and psychopharmacological interventions. The RN is expected to have at least two years of pediatric mental health experience and hold a valid New York State RN license. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum two years of pediatric mental health nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) blue card certification.
- Experience working in a large, academic medical center.
- Telemetry experience.
- Work includes weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts as per unit needs.
- Rotation through day, evening, and night shifts is required.
- Work environment is a pediatric psychiatric inpatient unit focused on acute mental health stabilization.
- 36 or 48 hours per week with day, evening, and night shift rotations.
- Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory.
- On-call duties assigned based on unit requirements.
