Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Athens, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 5x8hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel and PACU experience for a role circulating across multiple surgical specialties.Details\n \n Operating Room setting within a hospital environment\n Circulates for general surgery, orthopedic, OB, ENT, and podiatry cases\n Rotating pain management and weekend call required\n Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred\n PACU/recovery experience required\n Prior travel nursing experience required\n Skilled in circulating for gynecological, general, orthopedic, podiatry, and ENT procedures\n Experience with blood/blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol, and wound management\n Familiarity with cell saver equipment and emergency/fire safety protocols\n Epic charting experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Responsible for circulating a wide range of surgical cases including gynecologic, orthopedic, podiatric, general, and ENT procedures\n Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically averaging 4-6 hours for RNs\n Not accepting candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)\n Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted\n Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler\n No travel pairs or groups accepted\n No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-754815.
