Claims Negotiator - Personal Injury We are seeking a licensed attorney to join a growing personal injury practice as a Claims Negotiator. This role will focus primarily on taking approved personal injury demands through the settlement process, negotiating directly with insurance adjusters, obtaining client settlement authority, and bringing claims to resolution. The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator who can manage a high volume of active claims, evaluate case files efficiently, and consistently move negotiations forward while protecting clients' interests. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of personal injury claims once demands have been prepared and submitted. Review medical records, damages, demand packages, and other relevant case information to develop a strong understanding of each claim. Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters regarding offers, counteroffers, and settlement terms. Develop and present persuasive arguments supporting the value of assigned claims. Maintain confidentiality regarding settlement strategy and negotiation positions. Obtain express written authorization from clients before accepting or finalizing any settlement. Handle policy-limit negotiations and settlement opportunities in accordance with applicable legal and ethical requirements. Monitor the negotiation pipeline and proactively follow up on outstanding claims to prevent delays. Identify claims requiring additional documentation or supplementation and coordinate the necessary information. Escalate stalled negotiations, significant issues, and time-sensitive matters appropriately. Work closely with pre-litigation staff and other members of the legal team to ensure claims are properly prepared for settlement. Participate in regular case and negotiation status meetings. Finalize resolved claims and coordinate the appropriate handoff for settlement processing and closing. What Success Looks Like Consistently moving claims through the negotiation process toward resolution. Achieving favorable settlement results relative to the available evidence, demand, and applicable policy limits. Effectively managing a substantial volume of active negotiations. Minimizing delays and preventing claims from becoming stagnant. Maintaining accurate documentation and clear communication throughout the settlement process. Protecting client interests while maintaining professionalism with insurance carriers and opposing parties. Qualifications Active license to practice law. Experience handling personal injury claims and settlement negotiations strongly preferred. Strong understanding of personal injury damages, medical documentation, liability, and insurance coverage. Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple active claims and prioritize time-sensitive matters. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader legal team.
