Assistant Club Manager

We are looking for leaders for the Assistant Manager role. This position will help oversee and operate a Planet Fitness facility, develop team members, and provide world‑class customer service. Excel Fitness is a Planet Fitness franchise group based out of Austin, TX with over 130 locations in 6 states. Since 2016, we have grown from 16 locations in TX to over 130+ locations, opening new clubs each year and building careers for our team. Roles & Responsibilities Provide an exceptional customer service experience. Recruit, hire, and train an entire team of high performers. Oversee, manage, and develop your team members. Create and manage team schedules. Ensure the entire team provides a world‑class member experience at all times. Resolve member, staff, and club issues, concerns, and challenges as they arise. Lead your team in Front Desk‑related activities inclusive of: Checking members into the system. Taking prospective members on tours and assisting with new account sign‑up. Facilitating needed updates to members’ accounts. Contributing to and overseeing detailed cleaning in all areas of the facility. Completing supply orders within club needs and budget parameters. Tracking club statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually). Providing support to the entire team. Qualifications & Requirements Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry. Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness. Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite). Hard‑working, enthusiastic and energetic. Strong problem‑resolution skills. Current CPR certification required. High school diploma/GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Occasional exposure to commercial cleaning products. Following stringent safety and cleaning protocols. Mask wearing required at all times while in‑club; members must follow state & local mask mandates. Maintaining a touch‑less check‑in and safe distance between members.
