Chemist-3rd shift/6:15pm-6:30am

Chemist - Mapleton, IL Arxada is a global specialty chemicals business committed to solving preservation challenges through better science. Position: Chemist supporting manufacturing plant, wastewater operations, logistics, and quality department. The role is located in Mapleton, IL. Salary is $37.44 per hour. Essential Job Functions Comply with all corporate and plant policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions pertaining to safety; attend mandatory safety meetings and training sessions, wearing proper PPE. Perform routine and non‑routine laboratory tests accurately and timely; record results in logbooks and systems. Ensure GDP is used within quality meetings at ALCOA standards, maintaining data accuracy, integrity, legibility, contemporaneity, originality, and identifiability. Conduct tasks in accordance with appropriate standard operating procedures and work instructions. Fill in gaps in the shift and wastewater schedule as needed, including 12‑hour shifts, overnight, and weekend shifts. Manage product release including packaging, raw materials, finished products, and bulk shipments. Perform calibrations and ISO9001 checks daily and monthly; perform weekly ISO9001 checks every Tuesday as needed. Identify areas of improvement within the quality department. Create batch numbers in SAP for the release of products for packaging and bulk shipments. Maintain laboratory equipment and consumables, such as gas cylinders. Perform data review and verification. Maintain proper housekeeping in your work area. Maintain and calibrate analytical instrumentation and reagents according to written procedures and schedules. Make, backfill, and restock reagents and standards as needed. Support wastewater testing as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience 3‑5 years experience in a laboratory setting. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or another science discipline. Medical first responder certification or the ability to obtain it within one year (preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reliable time‑management skills and the experience to organize and coordinate multiple projects at once. Experience in wet chemistry, HPLC, GC, auto‑titrator, and COD preferred.
